Urud appalam recipe

urud flour- 1/4 kg
rice flour - 1/2 cup
cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
salt - 1/2 tsp
asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
baking soda - a pinch
pirandai - 10 bits
ghee or coconut oil - 6 tsp
Grind pirandai and salt nicely.

Add 1/2 cup water and boil.

Add baking soda.

Filter the water and add this to urud flour.

Add asafoetida and cumin seeds.

Make it to a hard dough.

Add ghee and make it very soft.

Using this flour, make appalams using a chappathi roller.

Dry the appalams the next day in hot sun.
